In Memory of Gloria

Gloria was a great person who supported the recovery community with her positive and uplifting messages.

Gloria was a member of a support group for problem gamblers. She did not develop this disorder until later in her 60's, after the passing of her husband. Once Gloria realized the destruction her gambling had on her living family members, including her grandchildren, she decided to make a change. Working through a peer recovery specialist and her support group, Gloria celebrated more than a year of no longer gambling until her death on January 15, 2025.

I am so proud of, and grateful for, Gloria. She shared her incredible wisdom with the group of which I would participate in. To me, Gloria was the real deal. She realized that her compulsive gambling was a problem and she did something about it.
